PLM UPDATE

Ian Dean, Wester Clockeasy, Urquhart ,Elgin recently had his Fendt 936 fitted by Elgin depot with New Holland FM750 screen allowing hands free auto steering through the tractor's own steering and control buttons.The system uses RTK corrections via mobile SIM card and a Glonass satellite upgrade (giving more than twice the standard satellite availability) to operate at an accuracy of 2.5cm pass-to-pass, year-on-year.

Customer, farm, field, soil conditions, wind speed and many more details can be recorded on screen in the field and recalled on PC along with precise maps making this as useful a management tool for billing and record keeping as it is for steering.Jobs like drilling and cultivating can be carried out with more time to watch the following implement rather than steering, and working at night is made much easier.The screen used on this Customer's 936 can in future be expanded to work with Variable Rate fert spreading, automatic boom section control on a sprayer and much more.

Although this is a New Holland screen, it can be fitted to most machines on the market including NH, Case, Fendt, Massey Ferguson and John Deere tractors, and NH and Claas combines.
